Hey now, THAT should insure an incredible read-to-post ratio. šŸ˜ƒ Not THAT kind of clutch. After more than 10 years wearing a fanny pouch, Iā€™ve decided to try to ditch it. Considering the volume of ā€œnecessaryā€ items I carry every day with me when I leave the house, Iā€™ve decided to go Euro and carry a Manā€™s Clutch. Manā€™s Bag? Manā€™s Pocketbook? Manā€™s Purse? I need some guidance here. Itā€™s a nice soft leather thing, with room for what I carry around. Iā€™m fairly scared of walking away from it at a table somewhere, but I guess Iā€™ll adjust to the need to reach for it when I move, opposed to wearing all of that crap around my waist. I actually lay in bed last night, envisioning a small peizo-electric siren with a button battery, wired to a small reciever IN the purse. If someone steals the purse, I can hit the transmitter button on the small device I will always keep in my left-hand shorts pocket, and the purse will emit an incredibly loud siren alarm. It frustrates me that I see NOBODY using these unless they have an accompanying set of breasts. ( Not that thereā€™s A DARNED THING WRONG with breasts, or accompanying them, but thatā€™s another thread. šŸ˜‰ ). Iā€™ve seen them in heavy use in Europe. Figuring that Iā€™d rather be a trendsetter than do more to wreck my back, Iā€™ll give this a shot. Should I put a card in there saying my name and #, in case itā€™s found ? Is that insanely naiive? Should I still carry my Gerber Multi-Tool in it? So much to consider here. Do I also need to start wearing open-toed brown weave leather sandals with black socks??? šŸ˜ƒ Cartooniverse ---

Hey, you got room in there for my sunglasses? [sub]\[/sub] Thatā€™s what I always got when I carried a purse - hubby and kid seemed to think I was the pack mule. So I traded it for a fanny pack - big enough for _my_ stuff, but not theirs. ummmm, whatā€™s a Gerber Multi-tool? ---

[Gerber Multi-Tool](http://www.gerberblades.com/). Dare to dream.šŸ˜ƒ Iā€™m not overly worried that theyā€™ll pack mule me down, theyā€™d have tried that when I was wearing but not carrying. It doesnā€™t have a handle, it has a long leather shoulder strap which I detached for the time being. Iā€™m still trying to gain a reasonable comfort level with the whole idea. ---

I carry one and have been looking to upsize. Thatā€™s the danger of them. The bigger they are, the more stuff you find that you want to carry around with you. I call it my purse, for fun. Sometimes I call it a man-bag. But it is nice to have it so your keys are not bulging from a pocket and stabbing you in the leg. ---

Damn you, **Homebrew**! How did you sneak in there? BTW, what are you men carrying about that requires the services of a hand-bag (or, ahem, a ā€˜fanny pouchā€™)? I donā€™t think Iā€™ve seen a dozen men with either. I understand women carry make-up, bulky purses, tissues, tampons, etc., but what do men need a great big bag for? ---

The ā€œwhat do you have in your purseā€ thread has been done before, but it mighta been lost in the **Great Purging** , and besides, **Narrad** just asked. Hereā€™s what I have in my **Man-Bag** : One Key-chain with 8 keys and 4 Key Fob Bar-Code plastic cards. $ 11.00 US, and some change. 2 Pre-Paid Phone Cards. 1 Motorola Star-Tac cellular phone. 1 Spare Lithium-Ion battery for above. 1 Cobalt Blue Mini-Mag Lite 1 Generic Albuterol Inhaler. 1 ChapStik. 1 Mini bottle of Sweet Breath drops. The Gerber Multi-Tool. A small Altoids metal box filled with Lactaid tablets. 1 manā€™s folding wallet. 1 Handpspring Visor. My NYS EMT badge is clipped on one of the zip-up pouches. I can imagine a few more things I MIGHT wanna carry, but since this is what I had in the Fanny Pouch, Iā€™ll stay with this for now. **Narrad**?? Something I said? šŸ˜ƒ ---

Iā€™ll never give up my belt back. Part of its appeal to me is that I am not likely to leave it at a table, because I feel naked without itā€™s weight around my middle. In it, I carry: - Wallet - PDA - Sunglasses - Two sets of keys - Flashlight - Lighter (I donā€™t smoke, but Iā€™ve found it useful) - Several pens - Leatherman tool Also, it has TWO small zippered change pockets! I keep silver change in one, pennies in the other. I love it! Iā€™ve often made the claim that you could drop me anywhere in the world, and if Iā€™m wearing my belt back I have a fighting chance. Menā€™s purse. Not likely for me. Good luck though, if you try. ---

Well, if youā€™re carrying the bag in **FCM** ā€™s link, Iā€™d say itā€™s highly doubtful anyoneā€™s going to question your manhood. It would truly take balls (pun DEFINITELY intended) to carry that thing around. ---

Iā€™ve had it all day with me. Iā€™m so preoccupied with the fear of LOSING it, that itā€™s insane. I dunno if this is going to work out for me. Of course, I kept the fanny pouch Iā€™d worn lo these many months. ( They all die out eventuallyā€¦ ) ---
