Maybe it’s selective listening on my part, but I’ve noticed a trend in radio ads for casinos. They all seem to feature females straining to sound sexy and luxurious. But it’s like they have never been exposed to actual sexiness or actual luxury. Do casinos think their customers are so easily seduced? My theory is they know the desire to gamble is already there and they just need to get the name of the casino on the air. So they skimp on voice talent and ad copy-writing talent. ---

Are these casinos locally owned and operated? Maybe they are using the same low-budget ad companies that produce your local horrible furniture ads (which I think every area has). ---

If they’re trying to get the attention of male customers, a female voice is going to do a better job than a male one. ---

Around here they all star guys talking about having the loosest slots in town. Including Vincent Van Patten. I really don’t want to know what he’s talking about. ---

Around here the TV ads all seem to feature sexy young women, dressed up for a big night on the town. The radio ads all seem to talk about the new slots each casino has. Which makes me wonder since I don’t regularly gamble. Does a slot player really care what the slot is called (as long as it’s “loose”)? ---

Sure, a lot of the newer video slots are based on popular themes from tv shows or movies. They also have frequent bonus games which players like. These games often feature a lot of smaller wins. Some of the newer video slots also feature group play where there are several machines grouped together. Any person playing can trigger a bonus game that all players get to participate in. The graphics and sound of these machines are of video game and HD quality. The traditional reel slots don’t tend to pay off as often, but the wins are bigger.
