Found these on Tumblr. When Charlie and Glenn were doing their whiskey/bar appearances, a group of fans identifying as neurodivergent/autistic got pretty deep into talking to them about ND. I know Rob came out (before? or after?) this stating he is neurodivergent, but didnt know Charlie (IRL) was nor his son. He confirms (jokingly? sarcastically?) that the character of Charlie Kelly is neurodivergent. I cant get a read on him. Now as a ND myself, I struggle figuring out peoples intentions and part of me is just wanting another opinion on if hes being sarcastic or genuine about it? Here are some of the clips. He also referred to them as his “neurodivergent team!” in one. Are they being sarcastic/subtly making fun of them here or genuine? if its genuine, then I am so pleased. Please give insight and opinion. Definitely not making fun of anyone. It sounds like he is being nice and Neuro affirming to his fans. It sounds like he agrees with the assessment that Charlie Kelly is neurodivergent representation. It’s not clear to me whether he’s identifying himself as autistic or just showing support for the community. He would probably know a lot about neuro-diversity if his son is autistic. The way that other guy laughed in the clip though makes me suspect he knows something the fans don’t. If he knows that Charlie is autistic, he might be laughing about the idea that Charlie’s character is autistic. This is kind of hard to explain but it’s the only way I can interpret that laugh. It’s an inside-joke kinda laugh. I don’t think I’m autistic but I have ADHD and my son is autistic so take that for what it’s worth. It’s very common for parents to find out they are autistic after their child is diagnosed. ---
