David Mitchell, maybe? Pudgy but not fat, does exasperation better than anyone on the planet.

I’d like Chris Platt for Captain Carrot, because he usually plays the optimistic type who’s oblivious to shame. Aubrey Plaza would be Angua, not only to recreate their _Parks and Recreation_ dynamic, but because she embodies the attitude that all humans are idiots.
