(maybe his new costume should’ve been a priest? lol) I forget the exact quote, but at the very beginning (well, not the awesome _very_ beginning…) when they first find the dead body and try to come up with a reason, Castle says that the Vampire may have been killed by Lycans, as they are at an eternal war, or some such. ---

Yeah, and I heard that as _lichens_ and spent several minutes wondering why things that grow on rocks would kill a vampire. My husband had to explain it to me 15 minutes later.:o ---
