# Castor Oil availability

In the article [Did Mussolini use castor oil as an instrument of torture?](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a4_028.html), Cecil asks, “where would a would-be torturer get the castor oil?” How about any drug store? My wife used it to go into labor with our second child (he was past due, she was tired of being pregnant); I would _not_ recommend this method of inducing labor, however. But, really, it’s readily available.
