Castor oil in the umbilicus stimulates the immune system, and is detoxifying?

The Venn diagram of people who tout various substances to nonspecifically stimulate the immune system and those who warn of the dangers of vaccines stimulating the immune system shows a great deal of overlap.

I’m going with toxic belly button lint removal.
Yeah, that might work.

YMMV

I’ve known people who treated their kids’ tummy aches by cracking an egg on their belly and rubbing it around (trying not to break the egg, i.e. a gentle rub). That worked too so I’m guessing the rubbing is the effective ingredient. Those ladies were Hispanic. Makes me wonder if various cultures have different substances for tummy ache rubs.

Yeah, I’m guessing that intestinal gas pains can be eased by gentle massage, so what lubricant you use is not the significant part.

I knew a Filipino woman who rubbed her children’s tummy with a large spoon.
It’s the rubbing.
Think about it, the first thing you do if your own tummy aches is rub on it.

As always, the Bible clarifies the role of Ricinus communis.

Jonah 4:6-7

(6) God prepared a castor-bean plant and made it grow up over Yonah to shade his head and relieve his discomfort. So Yonah was delighted with the castor-bean plant.

(7) But at dawn the next day God prepared a worm, which attacked the castor-bean plant, so that it dried up.

Moral of the story: Don’t depend on castor oil to relieve your ills, because God is one fickle dude.
