The more I watch _The Rocky Horror Picture Show_ and _Shock Treatment_, the less believable it is to me that they were written by the same man, much less that they are related plotwise! ---

I just saw the first season of _Six Feet Under_. (Coincidentally, I’m going to a funeral tomorrow. Huh.) It was pretty good, though I’m not as wowed as I thought I’d be. It’s been hyped by so many people that maybe it can’t live up to it. I’ll keep watching for the characters I do like, and despite some of the most annoying and irritating characters on TV. If I’m still not wowed after S2, I’m calling it quits. ---

Hayes Carll’s “She Left me for Jesus” is a real hoot. You can listen to it on his [myspace page](http://www.myspace.com/hayescarll). It’s also free this week on iTunes. The chorus “She left me for Jesus. And that just ain’t fair She says that he’s perfect. How could I compare? She says I should find him And I’ll know peace at last If I ever find Jesus I’m kicking his ass.” “I’m gonna get even I can’t handle the shame Why the last time we made love She even called out his name.” I’m also pretty charmed by the group She and Him – she being Zooey Deschanel, who’s not only a great singer but a surprisingly good songwriter. For what it’s worth…the idea that John Connor still had to send Kyle Reese back to protect Sarah in the _changed_ timeline of “Sarah Connor Chronicles” is total bull. The man was _already_ sent back from the _original_ timeline, and it’s been established—in the new series, to boot—that changes to the timeline made in the past _don’t_ effect time travelers that have already left the future. It’s not _that_ hard to wrap your mind around the mechanics of temporal maniuplation once you’ve got a few generally accepted ground rules set up, damnit! ---

I love the line in USA channel’s commercials for NCIS: “The show with more initials than any other drama.” – I think this years Beauty and the Geek is pretty unwatchable. I mean, a tag football game for twenty minutes of the episode? That sucked. And when are they going to have the geek makeover and get some of that hair off some of those faces? And the beauties look really sleazy this season. ---
