> FWIW IF you can arrange to drop a very rotten egg on the feral cat it will feel very unwelcome and leave for parts unknown. It will NOT like to groom itself to remove the residue of rotten egg. Also a bb pellet is supposed to accomplish the same purpose. Sorry no cite, read it on the web some time past.

What is wrong with you? You clearly have a problem on this board. Why are you here if you have absolutely nothing constructive to say, ever?

I didn’t say they are gentle but they are alleged o be effective means to motivate a feral cat to move on.
Neither does permanent harm.
Why not post a solution instead of criticizing here?

Where did the OP ask for a solution to getting rid of the cat? That’s why neither I nor anyone else posted one - because he didn’t ask for one. In fact, he said he would like to capture the cat and get it treated by a vet. How did you interpret that to mean he wanted to get rid of the cat and would appreciate your idiotic and illegal suggestions?

Where do you get the idea that shooting an animal is an “effective” way to get rid of it? Effective for whom? The pellet manufacturer? Where did you get the idea that a pellet shot into a cat does no harm? Maybe it does no harm if shot into say, some anonymous person’s obviously empty brainless skull, but it does do harm being shot into a 10 pound animal.

I repeat, why are you here if you have nothing constructive to say?

Actually, I think I’ll be able to sucker him into the carrier using a can of people tuna.

As for the Hartz product, yeah, it might harm some cats, but then again, the anti-depressants I’m on have harmed some people, but if I quit taking mine, I’m dead. D-E-A-D. They may kill me anyway, but I’ve certainly lived longer _with_ them, than I would have _without_ them. My cat’s had no problems with it to date, so unless her hair falls out and she suffers chemical burns, I’m not gonna worry about suing (yes, I _will_ switch when I get her to a vet).
