No domestic cat “should” be vicious.

My siamese cat is generally very sweet. If you rub her belly just right, she will lay with you for nearly 20 minutes! But she does get in her moods. When she does, we call her ‘Swipey’, and we back off.

Wait a minute. A teenager who lives in the house with the Siamese _ **padlocked the cat’s legs together?!** _ When you described the behaviour of the other cat, I wondered if the Siamese’s meanness was its way of reacting to the same things. If a cat is frequently tormented or mistreated by human beings, it would be no surprise to me if it reacted by fighting back or running away. It sounds like the Siamese has chosen the former.

There’s not much I can offer you except try patience and kindness, hope for the best, and don’t expect results. I wish it were better.

Good news: I trapped the persian/siamese in the bathroom and played with her again. I managed to rub her and pet her enough that she started purring! According to my aunt, that cat doesn’t purr unless she really likes the person doing the petting. So yay!

Bad news: the siamese looked especially mean today. I let him sniff my hand, he let out a weird vocal meow (siamese meow?) then hissed. I yanked my hand away before he could chomp on it. I’m scared to even walk past that monster today, should he stick a paw out and swipe.

I’ve heard you can’t trust them because they’re two-faced.

I have had 4 Siamese cats in my life. They have ranged from an affectionate cat who would not harm any creature to one that thought everything must die. Fourteen was a gentile and loving baby. but ,a neighbor complained that her collie would not come out of the garage because Posthumous would jump on the dogs back . You cannot generalize.

Best, most loving, most angelic cat I ever had was a [half-Siamese named Achmed](http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b7/rubystreak/?action=view&current=achieiscutie.jpg). You could not ask for a better cat.

OTOH, the most vicious cat currently at the shelter where I volunteer is a Siamese. Some days I can’t even go into his room because he rushes the door and attacks it, hissing and growling.

I don’t think you can generalize about the behavior of cats from their breed. They are all different. This Siamese may never like you but don’t let that turn you off Siamese cats permanently. Some of them are wondrous.

When you next see the 17 year old, could you force feed him catnip, padlock him to a spinning chair, and give him a whirl? He’s the viscious little bratbutt.
I’ve known siamese that were rough, but not out of control. Was owned by one that was sweet as could be. Have only had one mutt cat my entire life that had…real problems. It would alternate between cuddling, and trying to kill me.

Sad & Deranged, is there any way you could rescue your aunt’s poor mutt? You’ve shown what a good kitty she can be, but she sounds stressed out, by your cousin’s bullying, your aunt’s refusal to correct her child, & the Siamese’s bullying. She sounds like she’s miserable.

I wish I could tuck the little (fat!) kitty under my jacket and run out with her, but there are currently three cats in one apartment - a fourth female, I think, would set things over the edge. It sucks. Maybe when my senior dies (he’s having some hip/bone problems lately - fell out of his catpost for no apparent reason than just the fact that he wasn’t aware there wasn’t enough room for him to roll over) I can speak to my aunt about harbouring the siamese/persian mutt until the cousin moves out, but she’s quite attached the her cats too, so I doubt there is much I can do.

On the other hand, along the lines of semi-good news, I saw something that just might redeem the Siamese monster.

When I went to my aunt’s house to visit yet again (my uncle is starting to get really sick of seeing my face around!), my cousin was in the middle of harassing the cats again. I yanked him aside, slugged him and told him if I caught him doing anything remotely resembling abuse to the cats again, it’d be more than just a punch in the arm. Yeah, I know violence for violence doesn’t exactly solve the problems, but it’s become evident that words don’t work with this asshole. When we were younger and he teamed up with my brother to tease me about being fat, I’d sit on him until he could barely breathe, so I think there is still some sort of risidual fear of me. I can only cross my fingers and hope.

Anyway, when the mutt was wailing up a storm due to being chased to hiding in the walls of the house, I saw the Siamese perk his ears up, and in a very concerned fashion, seeked out his little sister. I followed up, and he ventured up to the wailing cat, sniffed her, then started grooming her. She stopped wailing and groomed him back. So, although he’s a little monster to humans, it appears that he cares a lot about the other cat in the house, and will actually comfort her when she’s upset. I’d say that redeems him just a tad.

**SnakesCatLady** , Magic is a very interesting looking cat! Does he wear that blue sweater because he has little fur and gets cold?

I have a Siamese mix that wishes she were two-faced- then, she might be able to eat twice as many treats at once.

That’s heartbreaking ☹
