I’m talking about [this](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_011.html) column.
After reading Cecil bash cats on columns from times past I decided to post a short answer.
'Another source of kitty odor is an infection of the anal sacs, yet another dubious feature of the cat physiology. If Mudhead has been skidding his little bottom over the carpet lately, you would be well advised to hie yourself (and him) over to the vet. ’
I know for a fact dogs get this too. It has the exact same symptoms too. I know this because my dog recently had it.
Also, my cat has never produced hair balls.

The things I do when I’m bored… Hiya, board 😉

It’s true that having a purely indoor cat, kept healthy, really doesn’t have much if any nastiness involved.

Three cheers for the [flushing cat toilet.](http://www.litterfree.com/) .
