I do, but you said yourself they were movies. As such, isn’t putting them in the place not titled “movies” needlessly confusing?
They’re movie length, but they are continuations of a television show’s storyline. Thus my problem.
But I’m leaning towards agreement with those who are saying shelve them with the TV shows. I didn’t before, but I think I’m going to now.
For home, I would just put it with the series, because I see it as an extension of the series.
For a store, I would say that theatrical releases and direct to DVD get put with the movies, but things like webisodes, specials, and reunions go with the series.
For a library I would follow the Librarary of Congress classification system, or whatever your county library standard system is. While you may not be able to afford extra copies, you could certainly put a little cardboard or even empty dvd box placeholder in the other section with a note saying to look for the DVD in the other section.
I would say the best strategy is to put all TV related DVDs in the TV section. If someone is looking for a DVD specifically, they can look it up, or will probably think to check the other section. But if someone is just browsing randomly and come across a tv series they want to take out, it helps them to see associated dvds in the same place.
