And they are in California–there would probably be more of that kid elsewhere. These kids will eventually learn, at an academic level, why gays were historically reviled, but they’ll always lack the gut-level understanding of the hatred. _That_ is why this is a turning point comparable to _Loving vs Virginia_. The culture is not going back to how it was. ---

They already look out-of-touch to the point where even the video linked to by the OP, so desperately trying to be fair and even-handed, makes them look like frothing, glassy-eyed lunatics. How times have changed and unfortunately for them these people are finding themselves on the wrong side of the argument. ---

Just mulling it over, I don’t seem to have much in the way of gay friends. Though demographics suggest that I probably do, because they like, exist. I really gotta doubt that I don’t know about it because they were concerned that I might react badly to the news, so I’m going with yes, I do, but they never bothered to tell me. ---

I was pointing out the contradiction between the Catholic Church’s opposition to same-sex marriage and its opposition to divorce. To be fair, these were kids from California with names like Maxim and Samirah. One wonders what kid’s reactions would be if this was filmed using kids from Rural Oklahoma. Cute video though. ---

Is it just me or are CatholicVote . org particularly whiny among Religious Right groups? That whole Oh Woe Is Me “I’m gonna be called bad names, my children will be taught that they should not pay attention to what I teach them” vibe is just not as satisfying-sounding as foretelling that God will send plagues and cataclysms, like the Fundies do. ---

Yeah, but he also mentioned his parents waking him up and telling him it was okay. Makes me wonder if they saw the original video and realized that he was getting some bad information, and so were part of the reason he’s more informed. Heck, maybe they gave him a book.
