Cats are weird

hmmmm…cats and running water…hmmmm…
Well, there are lots of ways to drink.
But thisis the weirdest.

(link is a 2-minute clip of a cat. And a faucet.
Click on it. Trust me.)

Oh chappachula, that video made me miss my old cat Max so much; he did that all the time.

My current two fur bosses like to take the q-tips out of the container on my counter and drop them all over the house. Also nail files and orange sticks (why are they called that? made of orange wood? and if so why). Recently I bought a container with drawers that close for the counter. They are in the process of learning how to open the drawers; I give that about a week.

Interesting, thought I was the only person who had this. Mr Fury (an ironic name - he’s placid) leads me to his food dish many times a day but only gets stuck into serious eating if I pat him while doing so. Yes, its as if he needs encouragement and validation.

Beats me why, and I don’t always do it but its little enough for a nice cat.

I’m pretty sure Mitzy purposefully drops a couple of cat biscuits in her water bowl so that I’ll change it. And then she’ll wander outside and drink from a puddle anyway.

Before Maggie got fixed, she seriously molested two little dolls and the things reeked of well, you know. Now she rarely plays with them.

I always figured dropping things in the water dish was to flavor the water. Not entirely sure what “wiffle golf ball” tastes like to cats…

Allie drinks by dunking her paw in the water, then licking the paw. She also thinks a bathtub I’m in is a great drinking bowl, even with bubble bath in it. She does the “social eating” bit occasionally, too (leads human to cat dish, must be petted to commence eating).

Her predecessor, Felix, did the bathtub and social eating bits too.
