Thanks. **Shodan**. I’m glad to see that someone understood it was a personal swipe against a person, not a general swipe against all transgendered people. Yes, it was harsh. Should I have thought more before I said it? Maybe. I responded in anger to a statement that living with me might just be worse than being fired out of a cannon. Normally, it wouldn’t have hit that hard, but it came from someone who has said some really, really nasty things about me in the past. I swiped. Also, those who said I shouldn’t bring up off-board stuff here are right. I shouldn’t do that. I suppose I forgot the rule when so many off-board things regarding Ms. Magazine’s boards were brought up here. ---

I have to stick up for **catsix** too. She was criticizing the hypocrisy in **KellyM** ’s views on body modification. I know it’s instinctive to shield a poster who is from a rather put upon demographic, but **catsix** ’s comment is a fair one even if a little meanly put. ---

Without being privy to the conversation, a comment such as **Kelly’s** may not be hypocrasy at all. Someone who is underweight, for example, and still desires to lose weight is displaying signs of fucking nutness. Anyone of any weight who dislikes their body so much that they cover up the mirrors in their house just might have some issues. I’m not saying that those situations necessarily apply to **catsix**. But without knowing more of the details, we can’t say. ---

I’m not underweight. I’m not sure exactly what I weigh in pounds, but I do know it’s more than what is considered normal for someone my height. I currently don’t have a whole lot of mirrors in my house. There’s one in each bathroom. Totally visible. One in one of the other rooms so I can see if i have my pants on right and such. Do I need more than that? ---

She isn’t stating that transexual are insane, but that somebody who thinks it’ s normal to have a sex change doesn’t have any business stating that someone wanting to merely lose weight should seek psychiatric help. Basically, she’s stating “it’s the pot calling the kettle black” in a more agressive way. As for being rude, I didn’t read the original thread, but if \*\* Kelly M \*\* actually stated that a person who wants to lose weight needs psychiatric help, it’s most certainly equally rude. ---

It was just an insult set to jack someone who said that being forced to live with me might be worse than being shot out of a cannon coming from someone who’s had a history of insulting me. I picked something that I’d hoped would say ‘You’ve got no room to talk about my mental state, hypocrite.’ Apparently many people saw it as a condemnation of transsexualism, when that’s not how it was meant at all. ---

No sense? How so? If \*\*KellyM \*\*did indeed say what \*\*catsix \*\*says she did, how is that not hypocrisy? Transsexualism is a much more intensive body modification program than weight loss by several orders of magnitude and I’m not seeing how a transsexual telling a dieter to seek psychiatric help because s/he should accept his or her body for what it is(!) can be anything but.
