Does your wife use an inhaler control medication for asthma? Those can cause thrush if the inhaler is not used properly or if the user does not rinse their mouth and spit thoroughly after using.

I was on an inhaled steroid once that I had to discontinue, because I got thrush 2 or 3 times, regardless of how much rinsing and gargling I did.

Also got thrush once after surgery. Doctor said it was the antibiotics.

She does not use an inhaler or take any drug that has been implicated in thrush. She brushes her teeth after every meal and flosses every day. She does not have or do anything that might cause a compromised immune system.
