# CD-to-MP3-player problems. Weird. Help?

I got U2’s newest CD, _Songs of Experience_ and wanted to put the songs on my Sansa MP3 player. The all-in-one comp has no disc drive, so I put the CD in a laptop.
When I opened it, it said _Songs of Innocence_ (the first album) but correctly listed the new CD’s songs. I ripped the CDs to the laptop, then transferred them to the Sansa.
Noticing that the Sansa was playing songs from SoI, I connected it to my all in one and found that all the songs I had ripped were, in fact, from S. of I. , not S. of E.
When I play S. of Exp. in my car’s CD player, the correct songs can be heard.
What is going on here? Is there some workaround?

You don’t mention exactly how you ripped the CD to MP3s, but many ripping programs automatically tag the songs with artist, album title, track #, year, etc. If the CD and tracks got misidentified during the rip (e.g., the track title is correct but the album is wrong) then you might find that you are opening your pre-existing SoI album.
TL;DR: If the album title got screwed up, maybe you’re playing the album/tracks you already had on the Sansa?

Odd, because it was my cousin’s laptop and she didn’t have the earlier album on it–unless it got downloaded there accidentally.
I didn’t have the tracks from S.O.I. on my Sansa.

The computer’s default media player shows a listing of songs on any CD you put in and then you can uncheck the boxes of any songs you don’t want to rip before clicking on “Rip.” It’s Windows Media Player.
