Is anyone else picturing aha in the role of Linus, waiting for the Great Pumpkin? Folks, folks, get a grip here. Sure, hope is a fine thing but consider who you’re invoking. Re-read the SD canon; Cecil is a testy, eccentric misanthrope. Fan base, indeed! He is the one prone to responding, “Quiet, rodent” when mere mortals become uppity. For all they’ve been maligned, Ed, the admins and mods are a basketful of puppies compared to Cecil. If he’s condescended to reading this board, as a break from particle physics and the Kama Sutra, etc., I suspect some of the more virulent outbreaks of hypersensitivity would lead to a Cecilan judgment that we have the collective IQ of lichen. ::shakes head mournfully:: Aspiration is fine, aha, but beware what you ask for; it just might be granted. I just looked up Cecil’s postings… I got a total of 43. Out of those 43, **none** were posted to MPSIMS. Most of his postings were, understandably, in the Comments on Cecil’s Columns forum. Perhaps we are in the wrong forum for this… Just a thought. ---
