Chrissie Hynde also mentions Brigitte Bardot in the Pretender’s _Message of Love_. Patti Smith’s _Land (Horses)_ - “go Rimbaud go Rimbaud go Rimbaud” (OK, he’s been dead a long time, but so has Vincent.) And gods help me that “in the back of the Ben-Z” song mentions “sittin’ next to Vanna White”.

Laughing Lagomorph (do you have my vinyl collection?) beat me to the punch on the Smithereen’s excellent _Behind the Wall of Sleep_. (Jeannie Shrimpton was arguably the original supermodel back in the “Swingin’ Sixties”.)

Dragon Phoenix, I think _Free Nelson Mandela_ was by the Special AKA.

Gaahhhh! Is there something about pushing the submit button that makes you regain your memory?

I forgot Mary Chapin Carpenter’s _I Feel Lucky_ : “Dwight Yoakam’s in the corner, trying to catch my eye/ Lyle Lovett’s right beside me with his hand upon my thigh”.

Sheryl Crow’s _A Change (Would Do You Good)_ is a plethora of pop culture - mentioning everyone from Jekyll and Hyde to Buddy (Holly). Her _If It Makes You Happy_ mentions Geronimo, Marilyn, Benny Goodman and Coltrane.

Oh, oh…_When Smokey Sings_ by ABC! “When Smokey sings - I hear violins/ When Smokey sings - I forget everything…”

Yes, I do have an odd record collection, why do you ask?
