Any examples of movie/tv/sports stars who poke fun at themselves?
According to this Wikipedia article, a few celebrities accepted the Razzie Awards
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razzie--](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razzie--) Tom Green and Halle Berry
Any other examples?

There was one other person who picked up his Razzie in person- Bill Cosby, for _Leonard Part 6_.

I’m impressed that Halle Berry picked up her Razzie. I was just telling my wife earlier tonight that I didn’t really care for her; this sort of changes my mind.

Actually, that link seems to be a dead end. They have an article about the Razzies here:

The Hasty Pudding [Man](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasty_Pudding_Man_of_the_Year)/[Woman](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasty_Pudding_Woman_of_the_Year) of the Year Award involves the recipients doing some rather embarrassing things both on stage and in the streets of Cambridge, as well as getting hit with jokes about their less prestigious films (Clint Eastwood and his orangoutan movies or Halle Berry and Catwoman, for example). I wouldn’t imagine anyone accepting who couldn’t laugh at themselves.

Still, people change. Tom Cruise received the award in 1994. I have a hard time picturing him doing it now.

In [Show People](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0019379/), Marion Davies plays Peggy Pepper, an actress touring the MGM lot, and they cut in a clip of Marion Davies getting out of her car. Her guide points out Marion Davies to her and “Peggy” says [well, in a title], “Ugh–I can’t _stand_ her.”

At the Razzie ceremony, she was holding her Oscar (Best Actress 2002 for _Monster’s Ball_), which to me makes it ten times funnier.

Dennis Deyoung of **Styx** was on the local radio show this morning and was having a lot of fun making fun of himself.
He had a keyboard and was starting the into to the song “Lady”.
But when he was supposed to start the singing with “Laaaydayyyy, when I’m with you I’m smiling”
he instead did his best Jerry Lewis impersonation and started yelling “Lady! Hey Lady!!”

A lot of the people who participate in Friar’s Club and Comedy Central roasts are good sports about themselves. Bea Arthur took an awful lot of “Bea Arthur has a penis” jokes in stride. George Takei seemed to love it when they picked on him at the recent roast of William Shatner. Of course, some of the weirdest people are really uptight about it: Andy Dick obviously couldn’t take the heat.

Tom Selleck’s another one who can poke fun at himself. I remember way back when he went on Letterman shortly after _The Cosby Show_ came on the air and knocked \*Magnum P.I. \* way down in the ratings. He went on Letterman with a short film he’d made showing his life before and after Cosby. Before Cosby he had a limo to take him to work, babes all over him and CBS suits answering his every wish. After Cosby he had to take the bus to work and clean up the set after everybody else had gone home, etc. It was pretty funny.

I remember it as him blaming his previous Letterman appearance on the show’s demise - it was “before Letterman” and “after Letterman.”

I first saw this as “Celebs who are good _at_ sports…” and thought, well, that’s gonna be a real long list, particularly if you include athletes…

Milton Berle wins, I think, for his answer to the report who wanted to know if he really had the biggest dick in Hollywood. The reporter offered to compare, and Milton said, “Well, okay, but I’m only gonna take out enough to win.”

What\*?!\* I’ve always heard the exact opposite about her.

Yanni (the Greek musician; I don’t know what his last name is) was on the Howard Stern show recently and was a great sport about himself. He was pretty funny, and seemed to realize that a lot of people laughed _at_ him instead of _with_ him, but at the same time didn’t care. He had a great blend of self-deprecating humor and “fuck you, pay me” attitude, which I thought was great.

There’s a scene in enjoyable action tosh the Transporter where Jason Statham’s character dives underwater and has to hide while some bad dudes lok for him. He runs out of air, but there’s a recently killled lad floating beside him, so Jason grabs him and sucks the breath out of his dead lungs. Now, that sure seems silly now that I type it, but I was kinda drunk watching it, and it made sense in a drunken action movie kinda way. Anyhoo.
On the DVD special features, there’s an interview with Statham himself, where he discusses said scene. Musing to himself, he speaks about how supportive the crew were on the day. “They actually said it looked quite romantic”, he recalls, then, after an absolutley perfect beat, in his gravelly london accent, he mutters “Bastards”. Then he cracks up. Jason Statham seems like a really down to earth guy, and a right good sport. I hope Crank does the business for him.
