These are a bit ‘tabloid’ but: Singer **Elton John** (then admittedly bisexual but widely considered as gay) marrying recording engineer Renate Blauel was a surprise. After it ended four years later John declared he was gay. In a similar fashion **Michael Jackson** ’s dubious sexuality meant his marriages to **Lisa Marie Presley** and Debbie Rowe looked unlikely. Although he had previous relationships with **Tatum O’Neal** and **Brooke Shields**. He supposedly proposed marriage to **Elizabeth Taylor** but she declined. TCMF-2L ---

Since then, much of daily life has become politicized, including COVID measures, so I imagine conversations must get pretty tricky.
