Increasingly obscure pop culture references aren’t funny just because they’re obscure! And his similarly named comrade, **Larry Miller**. Cripes, this thread is scary. There’s a reason I haven’t had cable since 2001, and I think I just remembered what it is. I will add, in the category of Unreasoning Visceral Dislike: _Brian Mulroney_, Canadian politician and former Prime Minister. There have been other politicians who I have disagreed with, but Mulroney is the only one I would dislike based on appearance and mannerism alone, no matter what his policies. He always came across as just so smarmy and unctuous, as though he was always trying to appease someone while trying to hide the fact from the audience… ---

I think I’m starting to mix in people I have very good reasons to hate. **Deepak Chopra** is one of them. He’s a big con man taking people’s money and getting rich. ---

My complete list would be a mile long. **Rita Wilson.** I feel like she is constantly trying to dress so everyone will think she’s the sexiest Hollywood wife ever, even though she is a little old for those clothes and hatchet-faced to boot. It makes me puke that she was never more than a D-list celebrity, but you see her in paparazzi pics much more than the other non-famous Hollywood wives of big stars. And, in those pictures, she is often PDAing all over Tom Hanks. It all just screams _desperate_. **Tom Cruise** , for the obvious reasons. Pretty much any actor or actress who became famous on a trendy teen show like 90210 or Dawson’s Creek. They are generally talentless and undeserving, and they all look alike. ---

**Jennifer Lopez** - anyone ever noticed how shiny she is? Like processed bologna? Anyone who is the constant subject of tabloids long after they have stopped acting – **Zsa Zsa Gabor** and her ilk Anyone who is the constant subject of tabloids without having accomplished _anything_ – **Paris Hilton** Anyone who becomes rich as a teen-ager and never has the chance to develop an intellect, taste, or judgement – **Britney Spears** Any talented actor who becomes a raging asshole as the result of success – **Ben Stiller** (although I’ll still watch everything he appears in), **Russell Crowe** , **Val Kilmer** Anyone who takes his or her fame as an opportunity to show us his or her _real_ self – **Oprah Winfrey** , **Madonna** Anyone who does one brain-cell destroying movie after another but pretends to be an intellectual in interviews – **Sylvester Stallone** Just plain dumbasses – **Steven Segal** Proselytising prigs – **Mel Gibson** Anyone who has given up a promising career as a real actor to become an action-movie star - **Nicolas Cage** The celebrities I respect are the ones who do their job and go home – **Daniel Day-Lewis** and his ilk. Also ones who do real work for good causes and speak their mind on political issues – those ones are alright in my book. ---

i don’t know if he really counts a celebrity, but wayne coyne from the flaming lips. i just can’t respect a man in a bubble wearing a pink tuxedo. and i also hate everyone in metallica (overrated at best, and i don’t think anything they’ve done is really metal, i know this is gonna piss somebody off, but oh well), adam corolla (ignorant jack ass that makes a living off of insulting people), johnny knoxville (do you even have to ask?) and vin diesel. probably a whole lot more celebrities but i don’t think i need to go on.
