The official name of the “peter meter” is the penile plethysmograph, or the phallometric arousal gauge. [Here’s the work safe wiki.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penile_plethysmograph) They’re most often used to measure sexual stimulation in people accused or convicted of criminal sex offenses (child molesters, rapists, etc.) when relevant for legal reasons.
