Was listening to comedian Dwight Slade on comedy radio. Noting the airport in New Orleans was named after Louis Armstrong, he joked about future airports being named after current celebrities. (He didn’t mention Liverpool or Lennon.) For example, he talked about “flying into Snoop Dogg”, where passengers may be asked to “stow their weapons in the overhead compartment” or where flight attendants carried bongs. Or uneventful flights into Miley Cyrus Airport, since (he said) nothing much happened during her shows. Surely Dopers can do better? What celebrities would make good names for future airports? What is distinctive about them? ---

The former Allaire Airport is now the _Monmouth Executive Airport_ and could be renamed the **Bruce Springsteen Airport.** Reese Witherspoon still lives in Nashville, maybe rename their airport. [LAX was the airport](https://movie-locations.com/movies/a/Airplane.php) in _Airplane!_ Either Leslie Nielsen or Peter Graves. The various terminals and lounges named after cast members. ---

I think the airport in Miami (or maybe South Dallas) should be renamed after **Vanilla Ice.** (Not very cool, maybe. But admit it! If someone tells you to STOP, what do you think of next? Collaborate. And listen. Wouldn’t such compliance help the hardworking folks at the airport?) ---

When Calgary Airport added a new transborder/international terminal, some local comedians made much of wanting to call it the **S** tephen **H** arper **I** nternational **T** erminal. Think about it. ---

Its actually [Will Rogers World Airport](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_Rogers_World_Airport), servicing Oklahoma City. The city’s other airport is named after Wiley Post. Rogers and Post died together in a plane crash in 1935. ---

Arthur Hailey Airport, not to be confused with Arthur Hailey’s Airport. Kansas Airport, where you can carry on your wayward son. \* The song is originally by John Denver, but you really can't name an airport after John Denver unless it's in Denver, and then it's still kind of redundant. ---
