It starts tomorrow. In the original series you at least had people who had some business background and a reason to want to win. $250,000 a year and a job in a major corporation. This cast of losers has nothing to gain but a bit more facetime on TV to try to resussitate their flagging careers. That means mugging for the camera, causing unnecessary drama, and “attitude” from the contestants. Imagine “Survivor” or “The Amazing Race” cast only with drama queens. I’ll bet Trump will want to fire the whole lot of them after the first episode. It doesn’t help that i don’t know who half of the “celebrities” are. Vincent Pastore? Nely Galan? Tiffany Fallon? I’ve never seen the show, but I was interested and kind of sad that Lennox Lewis is going to be on this one. He’d previously seemed to me to be pretty dignified and aloof. How come he’s washed up on the shores of “celebrity” reality TV? ---

All I know is that a train wreck as awful as Celebrity Apprentice probably calls for a revival of the famous (to me) and much loved (um, again to me) Raj Ratings. T minus 28 hours until I get to write poorly conceived and minimally viewed sarcastic quips at the expense of people both richer and more idiotic than me. Truly, the internet will be reaching it’s full potential. ---

I won’t be watching, but my wife will, for one reason: Gene Simmons. She caught his reality show and got hooked, and I must admit it was pretty funny. On his show, you get to see that Gene Simmons is a very motivated businessman. He made loads of cash from relentlessly marketing KISS in every way imaginable. And in just about everything he does, he appears to ask himself, “How can I make money off this?” Example: when his son started forming a band with some other guys, he asked if they had picked a name, and advised him to pick something unique and trademark the name as soon as possible. His son asked, “No one had used KISS before?” He answered, “Oh, sure, but none of them trademarked the name before I did. All that matters is who gets the trademark first.” Anyway. He seems like he’s got a good head for business, so at least there’s one on there who can compete. ---

I can see these celebrities – especially Simmons – challenging Trump a lot more than the other candidates we’ve seen. This might be fun. ---

At least they’re all playing for charity, not themselves. The “celebrity” list includes Omarosa. How can I _not_ watch? This promises to be a trainwreck of truly epic proportions! 😃 ---

Put it this way… Most of these celebrities will probably be a lot more conscious about how the comport themselves in front of the camera than your typical apprentice wannabe. At least, that’s how I figure it. Of course, that doesn’t preclude some celebrities from acting obliviously. ---

Vincent Pastore was on _The Sopranos_ and is currently appearing in the musical \*\*Chicago \*\*on Broadway (as Amos Hart.) The other two I have never heard of. ---

Apparently Tiffany Fallon was 2005 Playmate of the Year, and is currently married to a member of Rascal Flatts.
