Norman T. Hatch, a Marine combat cinematographer during World War II whose harrowing footage became the basis of an Academy Award-winning documentary short, has died, his son said. He was 96. Florence Finch, age 101, died Dec 8, 2016. Yes, I know. Too old and last year but it’s an important story in yesterday’s NYT.
