At least [Ray Sawyer](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/dr-hook-ray-sawyer-dead-773938/) was able to make the cover of the Rolling Stone before he died…as well as their obituary section after. (The picture on the cover was really a drawing of three of the Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show band members including Sawyer, and apparently he went straight to the offices to buy five copies for his mother.) ---
