Between mentions of it on Twitter, and Wikipedia (temporarily) listing yesterday as his date of death, I was fooled, it looks like. Such is life. ---

World Golf Hall of Famer [Gene the Swing Machine Littler](https://www.pgatour.com/news/2019/02/16/world-golf-hall-of-famer-gene-littler-88-passes-away.html) threw a Rod. Age 88. He won 29 times on the PGATour, including 5 tournaments after being diagnosed with cancer in the early 70’s. He was a contemporary of Billy Casper and Arnold Palmer and won the 1954 San Diego Open as an amateur. I have a few people connected with golf on my list, but not Gene. ---

Ganz, of course, is also well-known for playing Hitler in the movie “Downfall,” about the last days of Hitler and ww2. A clip from that film quickly became an internet meme under the title “Hitler hates the \_\_\_\_\_\_” ---

William E. Butterworth III better known as W.E.B. Griffin dead at 89. Author of over 250 books under multiple pseudonyms. His Griffin books were a quick enjoyable read with vivid likable characters. Pretty sure nobody had [Kofi Burbridge](https://www.jambase.com/article/kofi-burbridge-died). This one really makes me sad, I’ve seen TTB a handful of times and he was such a big part of the dynamic of that group. Watching him and Derek Trucks play off each other was such a treat. ---
