Celebrity Parentage.

James Caan is the father of Scott Caan of Ocean’s 11 & 12 fame.

Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gale are sisters.

**The Cash family ** and The Carter Family have many famous & talented members, of which I cannot remember at the moment.

Olivia de Havilland & Joan Fontaine are sisters and cannot stand each other.

Half-sisters, but they fully cannot stand each other. Neither one of them will die till the other does. You really have to admire a grudge that goes on for 70-some years.

Errol Flynn (Captain Blood, Robin Hood) was married thrice – firstly to French actress Lili Damita, with whom he had son Sean; secondly to Nora Eddington, with whom he had daughters Rory and Deidre; and finally to actress Patrice Wymore, with whom he had daughter Arnella.

Connections further afield: Nora also married singer Dick Haymes, who was in turn married at one point to Rita Hayworth (ex-Mrs. Orson Welles and ex. Mrs Prince Ali Aga Khan).

Sean Flynn did a few Hollywood movies (Son of Captain Blood) but eventually became a photojournalist, disappeared in Cambodia in 1970 and is believed killed by the Viet Kong. His sister Deidre became a stunt woman. Youngest sibling Arnella worked as a fashion model before dying of a drug overdose in 1998. Two of Errol’s grandsons, Luke and Rio Flynn, are aspiring actors.

Can’t believe I’m the first with this one… Angelina Jolie is the estranged daughter of John Voight; her brother (yes, THAT brother) is James Haven.

Dannii Minogue and Kylie Minogue are sisters.

The Walken brothers- Ken, Glenn, and Christopher.

One of which is Carlene Carter. She was once married to Brit rocker Nick Lowe. Parts of their marriage ceremony can be seen in Nick’s video, “Cruel to Be Kind”.

Carlene, while on tour in England, once told her audience, "I’m going to put the “cunt” back in “country”.

Swell girl.

Oops… forgot one. Tatum O’Neal is: the daughter of Ryan O’Neal and Joanna Cook Moore, the sister of Griffin O’Neal, former wife of John McEnroe (with whom she had two children), former girlfriend of Michael Jackson, and sister-in-law of Rebecca DeMornay.

Whoops! Scott and Sedgwick’s characters were married in Singles, not in real life. Good catch!

There’s also the Baldwin brothers, and the Sheen/Estavez group.

Mia Farrow and Lynn Redgrave are two children of celebrities whose own personal lives make your head spin. While I’m sure everyone knows the whole Mia/Woody/Soon-Yi affair, Lynn Redgrave’s personal assistant had a son whose father she refused to name. Lynn’s son Benjamin later married the woman and adopted the boy. It came out over one Thanksgiving dinner that the child was fathered by Benjamin’s father/Lynn’s husband John Clark.

Wow. So Benjamin was the adoptive father of his own half-brother?

Compared to Old Hollywood, today’s celebs are amateurs at the marriage game. One Eurotrash family in particular managed to sew up half of Hollywood, the Astors, and Sherlock Holmes. They were the “Marrying Mdivanis”, a group of siblings hailing from the Caucasian nation of Georgia who possessed truly astonishing powers of gold-digging. Minor nobility in their homeland, the Mdivani siblings reinvented themselves as princes and princesses after World War I (prompting their father to remark that he was the only man ever to inherit a princely title from his children!). The Mdivanis were:

Alexis, who married Louise Astor Van Alen, yes of THE Astors. He divorced her to marry her friend, billionaire heiress Barbara Hutton, who left him after she discovered his “princely estate” was a Georgian sheep farm. Barbara’s marital history is a saga in of itself. He was killed in an automobile accident.

Serge, who married actress Pola Negri and blew through most of her fortune before dumping her for opera singer Mary MacCormick. Mary instantly regretted this and divorced him after a highly-publicized trial. He married thirdly Louise Astor Van Alen (yes, his ex-sister-in-law, who apparently didn’t learn her lesson the first time). He died in 1936 after a polo pony kicked him in the head.

David, married actress Mae Murray, by whom he had a son. He bankrupted her, she divorced him and they got into a fierce custody battle over the child. He remarried in 1944 to oil heiress Virginia Sinclair, by whom he had another son.

Roussie, married famous Spanish artist José María Sert, and was largely responsible for arranging her siblings’ marriages. She died a drug addict.

Nina, married Dennis Conan Doyle, the son of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes. After Dennis died, she did her damndest to wrest control of the entire Conan Doyle estate from her two sisters-in-law.
