Michelle Pfeiffer is 50! It almost doesn’t seem possible. She looks a full decade younger than that. I don’t know if its genes, pilates, or Dr. 90210, but whatever she’s doing it’s working. ---

Cher and Bette are both 62 and look wonderful. (Cher has not aged…naturally one might say) Jamie Lee Curtis is 49. I love the gray on her. ---

The had a short piece on Doris Day, some stills and recordings from a local radio gig she sometimes calls into on CBS Sunday Morning last week. Wow, she looked and sounded awesome. ---

I saw Tina Turner on Oprah a while ago, and I was blown away. The woman is almost 70, looks fantastic, and can dance better than I can. ---

Have any of them reached their dotage without surgical help? Besides Mirren, whose every wrinkle is visible in the Prime Suspect series. Never mind her face and acting–why that woman never achieved the fame her figure, and her cheerful willingness to show it off, deserves is beyond me. ---

[/QUOTE] My husband and I and two friends went to a Tina Turner concert. We were up close, and Tina looked absolutely wonderful. Taut, flawless skin. Toned bod. Even her hands were gorgeous. I whispered to my female friend, “I sure hope we look that good when we get to be Tina’s age.” My friend shrugged and said “Hon, we have never looked that good in our whole lives. Why the heck would we look that good when we get to be Tina’s age?” ---

I’m not sure what the cutoff for the “aging” category is, but when this question comes up I always think of Maggie Cheung (43), Laura Linney (44), and Sissy Spacek (58). ---
