# Cellular telephone transportability: Taiwan\>Canada

A friend is coming home from Taiwan. She bought a prepaid cellular while there and wonders whether it could be brought back to Canada and be used on one of the networks.

Seeing as how I know slightly more than “jack all” about cellular technology and standards (I do know there are a bunch), I’d mine this vast quarry of intelligence for an answer. So…what’s the liklihood she can bring it back and actually use it on a local network?
