Well, the First Annual Central PA Dopefest is over! I have to say that it was one of the most successful fests I’ve ever been to, and even though I came up with the idea and the location, **danceswithcats** deserves most of the credit for making it work as well as it did. All of the food was delicious. **Casey1505** , you make a mean chili. Everything was wonderful. Thanks to everyone for coming and sharing a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Robin ---

You made a new thread while I was busy editing my html. So let me try this again. Pics are now online. [http://userweb.suscom.net/~sokosfamily/dopefest.htm](http://userweb.suscom.net/~sokosfamily/dopefest.htm) ---

I had an incredible time! Good food, great company, and somehow I managed to get talked into knitting **GingeroftheNorth** a sweater (and I was fully sober when I agreed!)… 😃 There will be pictures posted by tomorrow, given that I left the camera in the glove compartment and the car is parked two blocks away. ---

Damn, **jayjay** – you were taking requests? Shit, here I just sat there next to you quietly for that whole time instead of chatting you up and using my womanly wiles on you. (Okay, on second thought… 😉 ) I had an excellent time, and made it home in less than two hours. No, I’m not going to say what kind of speed I was maintaining to do that. ---

> [@MsRobyn](#): > > All of the food was delicious. **Casey1505** , you make a mean chili. Everything was wonderful. Thanks! I didn’t think anyone had a chance to try any. Getting there a little late, I missed out on the prime real estate on the head chili table, but I guess at least two people found their way to it. 😉 I really enjoyed the kimchi, having never even heard of it before. Excellent. “What sauerkraut wishes it were,” I believe someone quipped. Indeed. And **Doktor Fluff** ’s chili was delicious as well. ---

I just got home. What happened to the brew pub? It was open for a private wedding party, as far as I could tell. In hindsight, we really needed to make a backup plan. Oh, well. I guess I’ll get another chance to talk to **Opal**. I still can’t believe that **iampunha** ran naked through the Dopefest… ---

Thanks – I have no idea what the problem is – the “loading” arrow just keeps spinning around but nothing ever loads. Excellent pix! Though, as **steelerphan** says – too bad no one actually took a pic of **'punha** running naked through the fest. And let’s not forget the “Lessons Learned” points: [ul] [li]Bring extra clothes for Aaron[/li][li]Bring plastic wrap for leftovers and a broom for cleanup[/li][li]Do **not** hand **Cleophus** a map with the route highlighted in yellow and a set of directions printed out in 20-point type and expect him to be able to navigate.[/li][/ul] ---

> [@](#): > > _Originally posted by jayjay_ > More importantly, bring extra clothes for Mariah if there’s any chance whatsoever of there being mud around. I do believe that in the future, I’ll bring extra clothes for her even if I _don’t_ think there’s any chance of mud. Even if the fest is in the middle of the desert, on a 2 mile square concrete pad, I’ll bring extra clothes; you know, on the theory that _if_ mud can be located, my little girl will be the one locating it. 🙂 We got home around 10PM, and my baby went right to bed (since she’s my last one, she’ll be “my baby” at least until she’s 34); I went to bed shortly after. We had a blast, and if we hadn’t had the kids with us, probably would have stayed later. OTOH, if we hadn’t had the kids with us, everyone would have missed the entertainment they provided. I think I’ll have a mud puddle installed in our yard as her Christmas present! 😃 ---

> [@jayjay](#): > > Yeah, requests. _snort_ Gingy’s sweater is in the queue, which right now has about six other projects in it first. She may see it by next spring. 😃 Which is perfect, because it may fit me by then. That’ll give me about six months to lose the baby weight! We got home after stopping for a bite at a horrific buffet in Mountain Gate. I went right to sleep. Matthew and Dave made it longer than I did. ---

Much tasty food was enjoyed. Whoever brought the babka, it was wonderful. Where did you get it? And **Doktor Fluff** ’s chili, of course, was quite tasty as well. And in response to the question I got several times, the other 26 Evils are still in power… but not for long. \ ---

Thank you for such kind words, **MsRobyn** - truly the pleasure was mine. 😃 Having met the Philadopers last year, and then the Baltimore/DC dopers at **JonathanChances** , this was the first time I got to see them together, along with all y’uns from the western parts of PA. 😉 The added treat: beauty of children, and the Joy of Mud. 😛 Many thanks to the overnight gang who made sure **Doc Cathode** got headed back to Philly. ;j How long _were_ you in the bathroom with that young lady, **Doc**? 🆒 ---
