Ceramic Body Armor, privately bought. Ass for Glass?

A: And your objection is?

B: No we don’t need to worry about whether the dems WOULD fuck up–the pugs ARE fucking up. That’s the point. We’re talking track record here. Are you defending the PERFORMANCE?

Why would he need to do that? He’s already got you, and many others like you making the other side look ridiculous. Good work!

If I don’t see something resembling a genuine debate, here, pretty soon, I’m going to assume that the OP was whoring for the sort of attention one should seek in IMHO with a poll and either kick it over there or kick it down some dark stairway.

[ /imModerating ]

I’m not interested in a poll. I specifically offered the option of accepting the major premise as hypothetically true–albeit I got drawn into the pros and cons of the statitistical analysis.

It does seem to me that (assuming hypothetically the factual scenario as stated) it would highlight the issue, so to speak.

(although maybe it is as highlighted as possible just 'cause folks are dying, but on the other hand, as Dole used to say, where is the outrage?)

I vote for the dark stairwy; it’s always fun to watch the helpless tumble down darkened stairwells.

HAHA!

if they start making money that way, they will end up working for someone one with gold teeth, a cane and a fur coat.

I know several who are now practicing law–which is not to say they changed professions…

Are you bragging or complaining? And why is she your ex? Seems to me that she would have been a good source of financing to keep you supplied with weed.

Who paid for the joint(s) you smoked just prior to composing this OP?

I suppose for the same reason as the other five–I was an asshole.

That its a stupid question to ask. There are a lot better debates you COULD have had about body armor or armor plating of light vehicles in Iraq…ones that I might even have agreed with you on depending on how you phrased it, seeing how its kind of a burning question as my son is over there.

Obviously you misunderstood what I was saying. Lets put it this way…administrations come and go, Democrat to Republican. But the military is always there. There is a right way, a wrong way, and the NAVY way so to speak (and I assume it goes for the other branches as well). So…I see this more as a failure of the carreer bureaucracy weenies, the military bean counters and in general the fucked up military procurment bureaucracy. This transcends ‘Republican’ or ‘Democrat’ IMHO. If one wanted to get all partisan you could easily blame either side…but the ROOT cause is the military itself and how it procures things like body armor.

Are you sure you couldn’t have worked in a little match girl, freezing to death on a winter’s night in an effort to buy her daddy ceramic armor?

As long as you’re ladling blame in a non-partisan fashion, spread some of it over the Congresscritters, too. Congressional oversight committees just love to tie up development of new systems with multi-million dollar “independent evaluations” by outside firms (who just coincidentally contribute to said Congressperson’s re-election campaing, or have an address in said Congressperson’s district) before awarding the big, fat, juicy military contracts, a process which is a vote-buying scheme writ large.

I am really, really looking forward to reading your memoirs.

OK. This thread has been out here for over a day and it does not seem to be picking up much in the way of serious discussion, but has attracted a number of personal comments.

We’re going to retire this thread.

I am not claiming that the topic cannot be discussed, but it will probably need to be presented in a somewhat different manner to gain any traction.

Closed.
