Six major league baseball playoff games, two in St. Louis, the others in Philadelphia. Three of them World Series games, all won by the home team. That included the famous obstruction game in 2013 when Allen Craig tripped over Will Middlebrooks in the bottom of the ninth and was awarded home plate to score the winning run. The moment he stumbled the guy next to me and I both yelled “INTERFERENCE!” at the top of our lungs. As if the umpires could hear us. Fortunately, the umps knew the rules anyway (and they also knew it was obstruction, not interference).

The good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise I will be at Game 3 of the Rays-Yankees series next week. I got a ticket on the secondary market that was within my price range, mostly. Hoping for a good game…

Up until 2006, I attended every single New Orleans Saints home playoff game in the history of the franchise.

I don’t know much about football…is this like saying that I have attended every Seattle Mariners World Series game they have ever played, home AND away?

If not, congratulations–sounds like a neat run.

It looks like there were 3 home playoff games before 2006, 2 losses and 1 win. So not a trick question, just not a very fruitful answer.

I’ve never been to a pro playoff or championship. But during my time at Villanova, in the band, we went to a few NCAA basketball tournaments. I don’t remember how far we got in any of them, but we didn’t win those years.

I also went to the girls high school state rugby championship last year. We lost, but it was close.

Right. And the first one was in '87, my first season attending Saints games.

You brought back memories for me. I had a buddy who had season tickets for Villanova. He’d invite me to the game whenever Nova played my Alma mater (La Salle) at the Cat House.

We never sat in his seats, always in the student section, despite the fact that we were both in our forties at the time. So much fun.

Game one or two in 1980, Veterans Stadium, Royals at Phillies.

Game 6, 1987, Oilers at Flyers, Spectrum Stadium.

The closest I got to attend was an ACC basketball championship in 1983 ( Virginia, with Ralph Sampson vs North Carolina, with Michael Jordan).

About a dozen NCAA hockey tournament series back in the 70s to early 80s. Frat brother’s mom had a tiny apartment on Commonwealth ave. Our group took up most of the floor space and bathtub for sleeping. Games were at the old Boston Garden . Our team, RPI, was seldom present but there was always a “go big red” team we could root for (usually Cornell).

Quite a few Stl Cardinals playoffs games - 2006 through 2013 or so, including WS Game 3 in 2006 (the Chris Carpenter game).

But the best, by far, was 2011 World Series Game 6 - the David Freese game. After that one it was clear I was never going to go to a more memorable sporting event in my life. But I’m OK with that…

I went to all the Bulls home playoff games for their 5th and 6th championship runs. But I was working them primarily as a film processor, film runner, and shooter during the 1st and 4th quarters. But it was still unbelievable! Only Bulls games I’ve ever been to.

Lucky you regarding the Freese game. That was not one of the two Cardinals WS games I went to. Certainly among the most dramatic and remarkable of WS games ever.

1984 ALCS game 3. Detroit beat Kansas City 1-0 to wrap up the AL title. Don’t recall much about the game because of the score but starting around the 7th inning, the Detroit police made their presence felt by lining the field near the stands, complete with cops on horseback.

I am jealous. Probably one of the 2 or 3 greatest WS games that I can recall.

I’ve only gone to a few:

10/3/97: National League Wild Card Game 3, Marlins at Giants. Barry Bonds’ first home playoff game as a Giant. Giants went quietly as the eventual-champion Marlins completed the sweep.

5/13/07: Eastern Conference Semis Game 4, Pistons at Bulls. Seats were cheap because the Bulls had lost the first three games, but they beat the Pistons pretty good in this game, and also in Game 5, to reclaim a bit of dignity. (The Pistons reached the Finals that year but lost to the Spurs)

3/20/14: NCAA Men’s Tournament First Round, at Milwaukee: I was there to see Oregon whip Brigham Young, but first we saw #1 Wisconsin dispose of #16 American University. Most of the crowd left after the Wisconsin game, so everyone had great seats for the second game.

And then…in Sabrina Ionescu’s senior year, I planned a trip to New Orleans for the Women’s Final Four…in April 2020. 😷

MLB - “Blue Monday” - October 19, 1981. Expos lose the deciding playoff game to the Dodgers when Rick Monday hit a homer. Not a sellout. 41 degrees F; 5 degrees C with drizzle. Not comfortable for spectators. [MLB Gameday: Dodgers 2, Expos 1 Final Score (10/19/1981)](https://www.mlb.com/gameday/dodgers-vs-expos/1981/10/19/67792/final/box)

I also attended an AFL (Aussie Rules) playoff game in Melbourne in the late 90s. St Kilda won (I don’t remember who they were playing).
