Change the name to the Washington Foreskins. That way, they can keep on calling themselves the 'Skins. I hate Washington with the heat of a thousand suns, BTW. ---

According to the PTO database, the Nationals currently hold a trademark registration on the word mark “Washington Senators” for clothing. The Rangers used to have three registrations related to the Washington Senators name and logo but those were cancelled in 2000-2001. I don’t know if the MLB separately parcels out these kinds of rights to clubs. If they do, it’s possible that based on contractual relationships, the Nationals might have had to make some kind of concession to the Rangers over the use if “Senators.” At one point in the early 1990s it looks like NFL Properties Inc. tried to register “Washington Senators,” for clothing but for whatever reason they abandoned the application. ---

How about the Washington Voters? Yes, yes, I know. But they do vote in local elections, and besides, isn’t it time the team got out in front on a civil rights issue? Another possibility: Washington Ballots. Or here’s one I read in the Washington Post: the D.C.'s. ---

I have a Senators t shirt I bought there and they have worn Senators throwback uniforms for certain games. For the Redskins, since they don’t play in DC, they should take a name related to their home in PG County. Maybe the Police Brutalities. ---

As a lifetime Redskins fan, I’d just like to say: F’ing change it already!!! It’s been way too long, and the whole country knew it shoudl have been done way back when the “Bullets” wised up and changed theirs. It’s an obvious issue, and the fact that it’s gone on this long absolutely stuns me. and no, “Senators” is the name of our baseball team. Hopefully that will get straightened out soon as well. ::huff:: ---
