No kidding. Yesterday it was 90-something here with 90-something percent humidity. That’s July weather! It’s the end of September dammit, where’s my cool crisp fall weather? ---

We’ll probably break the record here for most 90+ days in a year on Thursday. That’s Oct. 5th. After almost week of 90 degree highs. 20 in the month. No high lower than 83. Most Augusts aren’t this warm. ---

Got up this mornin, feet hit the floor. A very _cold_ floor. Checked radiators. Very cold. Looked out window. Not snowing. _Yet._ Checked boiler. Pilot light on — yay! Pressure gauge — 10 lbs instead of 40. Not yay. Waiting for the boiler guy. And waiting. And waiting. Starting to feel like the Little Match Girl. ---

There is a two-foot-deep drift of snow on the back deck. My car is buried. The pipes didn’t freeze, but the thermostat told me that the temp inside the house was 6C. Thankfully, the furnace came on without a problem, and the place warmed up nicely. Later, I’ll have to go out and dig out the car, and try to attack some of the stuff on the front steps and walk. It was sunny and warmer today, and the snow will be wet and heavy. Environment Canada shows increasing temps and sunshine as the week goes on, so hopefully, the snow will melt soon. ---
