The stats:

WinXP Pro full version
40 G HDD, partitioned into 3 drives, currently named G, S, and C

The story:

Partition Magic FUBARed my computer (long story), somehow renaming my original C: drive to G:. I had to delete and recreate the partition, but it still named it G:, so I went about my business assuming it would be OK. But so many programs assume that your C drive is your system drive, and it’s causing unforseen annoying issues. WinZip wouldn’t work, and Norton Antivirus wouldn’t install until I renamed my D partition as C.

The question:

Does anyone know of a utility that will allow me to change the system drive designation? I can change every other drive through the computer management utility in the XP control panel. It just won’t let me do the one little thing that I need it to do.

I’ve looked at [download.com](http://download.com), and my searches at [support.microsoft.com](http://support.microsoft.com) and google haven’t turned anything up. But I’m notorious for being bad at coming up with keywords for searches.

Thanks!
