How difficult is it to get a job as a character designer say with Disney or another company?

Contact them and find out what kind of job requirements they have…
[maybe start here?](http://disneycareers.com/en/career-areas/creative/creative/)
Not sure how reliable this site is, but [try reading through this?](http://www.indeed.com/forum/cmp/Walt-Disney/get-job-at-Walt-Disney/t8393)

It’s about as easy as getting a job designing LEGO sets. That is, there’s a huge amount of competition since the job is extremely visible, and thus the working conditions are bad and the expected quality is very high.

I assume if you did want to go down this route, it would help to get some sort of credentials to stand out from everyone else–maybe a creative writing degree or something.
