**Oom Koos** Means ‘Uncle John’ or something close in Afrikaans. A character in JM Coetzee’s The Disgrace. He wasn’t a main character or anything, but his name has stuck with me two decades after reading it in college. There is now a rapper with that name so it stuck with that dude also. ---
