As a result of my mother’s good influence (teaching them how to sew) and my bad influence (exposing them to comic books), my stepdaughter and my favorite niece grew up to be cosplayers. Recently they went to a convention together dressed as Power Girl and She-Hulk, respectively, which I found curious as **Cinderella the Rhymer** is more of a Supergirl fan. When I asked why she chose that particular El girl, she replied, “Because the point was for me and **Lisel the Magnificent** to be besties in costume. Power Girl and She-Hulk would be instant best friends if they ever met.”
That made a certain amount of sense to me. And it also inspires this thread. What characters from different fictional universes would be instant best friends if they somehow met. You needn’t restrict yourselves to comic book. If you want to talk about, say, Hawkeye Pierce and Greg House, or Boromir and Tonto, et cetera, that’s fine. Just remember that we’re talking about platonic friendship, not fuck buddies.
Oh, and anyone who mentions the last scene of the last episode of _St. Elsewhere_ will be stabbed, shot, strangled, suffocated, and smothered.

Well, I would think that Lorne Malvo (from Fargo S1) and The Jennings (from The Americans) could easily become best friends. But probably only after they were both retired.
Neither of them could ever afford to risk talking about their work while they were still actively working (and killing people). That would be too dangerous.
