Going further back, I always thought Hamlet was a whiny git. An extremely eloquent whiny git, to be sure, but nonetheless a total whiner. ---

Mark from Peep Show (British). I know his character is MEANT to be an exaggerated caricature of an uptight, whiny, insecure man, and I love the show. But there were plenty of times when it strayed from funny to just plain annoying. ---

Watching _Attack of the Clones_, and _Revenge of the Sith_, at least we could see that Luke got his whinyness genetically (and, I agree, “I wanna be a Jedi Master! And have a hot wife! Why are you picking on me??” is even worse than, “I wanna go to Toschi Station…”). I do think that Anakin “grew out of it”, but only in that Darth Vader was too cool to whine. 🙂 ---

In the comics he is fairly stoic, at least these days (He may have been more whiney in his teenage years). In the movies he doesn’t really do much at all. How does he somehow make it into such a burden? (Not even mentioning the fact that he always seems to have a smoking hot girlfriend on the go.) ---
