Charge me for incoming text messages? That I don't want?

The downside to Cricket is their coverage area. Frankly, it stinks. However, if they do cover all the places you go, it’s a pretty good deal.

This is true. But they’re a relatively new provider and I figure it’s just a matter of time before they branch out a bit more. They’ve grown a lot in the nine years they’ve been in business. Lucky for me, I’ll be moving into another Cricket area.

I have my kids on a service similar to the one Brown Eyed Girl posted. As far as I can tell they talk and text and send pics simultaneously while eating and playing a video game. $40 bucks a month each. Theirs is the $45 plan but I pay less because I have three phones on the same plan, each additional phone on the plan is $5 per month cheaper. . My wife and I plan to drop ours and join theirs later this month.

Careful about sharing the same plan with your daughters. Do be sure that you’re paying the bills for all the phones, because (with Cricket) if one phone doesn’t get paid, the entire account gets suspended. Obviously, cancel the phone, if necessary, but don’t let any bill go past due. Not that you would, just a word of caution.

After the texting fiasco my son created a couple of years ago with T-Mobile (can you say $600 bill?), I will never again share a cell account with a teen. Nope. Not. Ever.

I figured out how to block my friend’s number. Good thing too, because he told another friend about it who now is following suit.
