IIRC, Marvin and Bronson got all the way inside the chateau without uttering a word, not even when they spilled ink all over the register. That was a neat trick!
In The Great Escape, the scene with the Russians is right at the beginning; the one with the plane is much later, when they’re on the road. The plane was, I believe, a Bf108, a very simple trainer that (apparently) needed only to be hand-cranked.
(Bf108s were also used in Von Ryan’s Express, when the train was being strafed as it entered the mountains.)
Ive always thought From Noon til Three was under-rated. Good story line.
