CdG is a pit, but it ain’t got nuthin’ on the airports in India! Mumbai, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram (aka Trivandrum), Delhi - all hideous sweatboxes, filled with seething masses of people, policed by surly Indian security!
Ok. But can we agree on CdG being the crappiest international airport in Western Europe?

Nothing can beat the check-in crowds at Heathrow. It is simply impossible to deal with at this point. I avoid it as much as I can.
As for my trip, hunker down with a book then?
That’s what I went for - the seats at my gate were at least tolerably comfortable, and it wasn’t crowded, even though this was midday on a Monday. Not sure if I was at a long-haul or short-haul terminal, as my route was Johannesburg-Paris-London - I suspect the former as it is where the Joburg plane landed.
