IIRC, the only reason he gets parole hearings in the first place is, when Caliofornia’s Supreme Court declared its death penalty unconstitutional (early 1970s, I believe), by some quirk in California law at the time, all death sentences had to be changed to life _with_ the possibility of parole. (I think this is why Sirhan B. Sirhan gets parole hearings as well.) ---

I had no hard feelings towards them, and I didn’t give them shit, so they mostly returned the favor. I lawyered up and turned myself in to make a deal, so I suspect I had an easier time going through the system than most. ---

It would be amusing if Charlie could be dropped in society. But since California hasn’t lost all sanity, its not an option, despite the quixotic nature of the law after death penalty reversion. And don’t expect too much from Roman Polanski. Yeah, he says he wished he were there. And I bet survivor guilt can do that. But he was already espousing the point that Sharon Ttet’s waifish figure was ruined by pregnancy. No longer to Roman’s taste, it would appear. ---
