I can’t figure Charlie out. It seems like we’ve been presented with two options. Either Charlie is very coy with his responses and he’s just putting us all on. Or he’s a bit daft. This isn’t with just advice threads, but even with commentary about TV shows and movies, etc. If he’s trolling us, he’s one clever troll, because it comes across very sincere. And he’s very consistent with his act. So I’m more convinced that it’s not an act and he’s just a bit daft. ---

I wonder how Charlie would feel if he made Michelle Obama cry? Then again he sees her as a monkey, not a woman, so he probably would not want to do everything he could to make her stop. ---

Charlie is indeed something else, although exactly what remains a mystery. Some of his posts suggest that he’s a particularly nasty 10-year-old delinquent whose parents don’t know that he’s trolling the Internet, and if so he certainly has a future as a reprobate when he grows up. Or he might be a bitter old man with mental health problems. Who knows. Who cares. My only problem is when he invades a serious discussion for the sole purpose of thread-shitting. In those cases Charlie’s participation is about as welcome as a severe outbreak of genital herpes. And about as useful. ---

Basically he got a couple of warnings close together for being a dick to people outside of the Pit. Then he promised he would change his ways. He is so over the top nice and helpful but he is either just wrong and stupid, like in Mernieths post, or he purposely misreads posts and then responds to his misreading like in your post. Recent [thread by **HoneyBadgerDC**](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=19157837#) about getting angry when people don’t listen to him, even when he has knowledge of the subject being discussed. **Charlie Wayne** chimes in initially wondering if **HoneyBadgerDC** ’s problem might be that the conversation was over the telephone and if different genders may have resulted in the problem. Then **HoneyBadgerDC** responds that no it’s normally male only conversations that this problem occurs, but describes a situation where his wife had previously taken someone else’s side. He’s recently adopted the schtick of being terrified of nuclear attack by North Korea. Cue more long-winded wonderfully circular posts. I’d post links bit I’m on my phone. I still think he’s Aspergers or something but not a normal troll. Rapidly approaching my threshold for “more trouble than worth”, and very few posters in my forums break that threshold. ---
