I rejoined because I: 1. Couldn’t remember my username or password. 2. No longer had access to the e-mail I used to sign up. I vaguely remember asking a mod if it was okay for me to sign up again since I didn’t want to be accused of socking. Good lord. Thinking about it, I’ve been on the SDMB in some fashion or another for around half of my life. And I ain’t no spring chicken. ---

If you were posting before that, you were either on the AOL SDMB or you were posting to alt.fans.cecil-adams on usenet. ---

Oh, I had no idea! I’m going to have to put some thought into this, as I’m not sure yet what part of my experience deserves emphasis. (For the record, “DKW” is a relic of my old arcade days…it was what I entered in the high score charts…and hadn’t any actual relevance in eternity.) I joined October 21, 1999. User # 275. On 9/11 between the time the second plane hit and I took my EMT gear and headed towards Broadway, I made 3 phone calls. 2 were to Dopers. This place… 💖 ---

I am a charter member. My join date shows as 2002, but I think that is wrong…I wa a member back in the 1990’s, but somehow that history was lost. I think it might have been when the software/format of the forum was changed. ---
