I know it’s tacky to post twice in a row, but I can’t help it because [this video](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1bo98838hs) made my morning. We’ve seen dozens of “dog greets homecoming soldier” videos (and I love them all), but you never see how the cat reacts. Until now. ---

A grand experiment is underway - I’m baking a peach upside down cake. 😃 It’s the same recipe as for Pineapple Upside-down cake, except using peach preserves (with chunky fruit) in place of the pineapples, no cherries (because I don’t have any), and milk in the cake batter instead of juice, since I don’t have peach juice. I don’t see how it can fail! 😃 Speaking of fail, it’s raining. Don’t get me wrong, I’m good with rain, but I’ve got a load of whites in the washer, and now they’ll have to go into the dryer. It wasn’t raining, nor was rain predicted on my favorite site when I started the load. Now I see a band of rain moving this way. _grrrrrrrrr_ Plus I dressed in grubbies to do some weeding, but that ain’t gonna happen in the rain. Oh well At least the dishes got done and I am out of my robe, so there’s that. Plus so far, no crabbers, so it’s looking like a day off for me. And tomorrow is definitely a day off. So there’s that. 😃 ---

{{{{ **Wiki** }}}} Blurf. Up fairly early, as the maintenance rabble were coming round, and I don’t want to be dealing with them in my jammies. Got good news yesterday- the jobcentre finally agreed with me that I can’t go to appointments I don’t get told about, so coughed up the 4 weeks backpay on benefits. Whew. Apologies for any mis-typing, I’m trying to make onion soup, and the fumes have left me barely able to see… I literally just had to spend 5 minutes with my eyes shut, feeling my way around the kitchen. Speaking (writing?) of which, I should go check on it… if I can see to do so. Have some assorted hugs, yays, trouts and Sri Lankan spiders, help yourself to whatever’s needed. ---

**kai,** I am so very sorry about your mother. Hugs and good thoughts to you and yours. Well, in two short days my daughter will be getting married. I can’t believe how quickly the date has rolled up on us. Tomorrow, we’ll be heading off the to coast, and Saturday my daughter will have her beach wedding. It should be good times, and we are all in dire need of those. I have errands to run today. I still need to go out and get a dress for the wedding, plus I need a pedicure. I was planning on doing all that this last weekend, but I was in a world of pain with a horrible toothache and couldn’t do much of anything. **FCM,** it seems to me that all little dogs seem to have a Napoleon complex. ---

I don’t know how to handle these two 5yr olds of mine without losing my shit on a daily basis. It makes me feel awful and makes me hate being a parent. ---

I am home alone with the twins during the day. I feel overwhelming anxiety when they make messes or fight. My daughter in particular has been talking back and pushing limits. ---

Well, that was fun! I just weeded the beds in the back yard, added mulch where it was thin, built another bed and added rocks to control erosion, and watered (so far) half of my gardens back there. Once enough sweat dripped on my glasses that I couldn’t see clearly, I quit. Luckily, I was done, so it worked. 😃 Now I’m showered and dressed in non-grubbies. Shortly, I may have to close the house because it’s getting warmer, altho according to my 2 favorite sites, it’s just 72°, which is cooler than I keep the house. We shall see. I’ve got poke thawing for supper. Sides will depend upon what’s in the freezer - I hope I have some Italian green beans - I kinda want them. I know I have ordinary boring green beans, so either way, I’m good. Maybe some pierogi, too. And peach upside-down cake for dessert! 😃 ---
