# Chat problems?

I know this isnt related to THIS board but when I tried to join #straightdope on irc there was no one there… then on opals irc chat… it never let me access it.
I have NEVER seen an evening when NOBODY was in chat. Is something going on?

The usual disclaimer about #straightdope not being affiliated with this messageboard or the Chicago Reader.
There should at the very least be 3 bots on the channel. My guess is you’ve accessed the wrong server and thus created a channel on another server.

Probably you either joined the wrong network (EFnet, Dalnet, etc) or else the Undernet server you joined was split from the rest. I have the best luck using the European Undernet servers.
I see I have Reprise trained well 😉
