Ok, so I know breaking news stories go here in MPSIMS so if this needs to be moved please do so. [News reports](https://news.yahoo.com/live-chauvin-trial-jury-deliberations-verdict-george-floyd-murder-134733208.html) indicate the jury in the trial of Derek Chauvin have reached a verdict and it will be read shortly. Does the fact the jury reached a verdict so quickly indicate a greater likelihood of conviction or acquittal typically? ---

IIRC, generally a fast verdict means guilty. I’ve heard of one murderer who was convicted after just 30 seconds of jury deliberation, or something like that. ---

My guess is that manslaughter is about the only charge they likely would have reached unanimously in this relatively short period of time. ---
